UPGRADE GUIDE
C. MMDS-LC ALARM PANEL
The MMDS-LC Panel is an engine display for MAN D 28 engines. The MMDS-LC communicates with the engine terminal box (black box installed in the engine room) via serial communication.
This upgrade consists of upgrading the terminal box (if necessary) and have available the CAN Bus X6 connector, which would now provide engine data via CAN Bus.
Once the X6 CAN Bus connector is active, any Böning engine display can be selected to show engine data and alarms digitally.
The most common options are:
- MMDS CLC 6.3 - single-engine 6.5" display
- AHD 880 - double engine touch screen display (can also display other vessel data, such as tanks, bilges, etc.)
- B⋮MACPS PE - interface to multifunctional displays (MFD), such as Garmin, Raymarine and Furuno.
